DBC Meetings Location / Center Las Tumbas

Hi Everyone, fiy this proposal as been shared in the DBC community group chat.

I would like to propose :

That we meet twice a month for DBC meetings:

A • Once a month in San Salvador in Dluz (as it has been our DBC hub )

B • Once a month in Las Tumbas at the communal salon (to have more of a centered gathering)

Both meetings can be accompanied by tacos and karaoke or other activities.

And C • once a month, organize a Community Day where we can :

1 • Do community service in the morning from 8 to 12.
2• Share a Lunch potluck
3 • Celebrate, play and have fun activities in the afternoon
(We talked about organizing mixed soccer games, which locals would also love and show up)

I think every last Saturday of the month would be good for that Community Day…
I also see this happen by the salon in Las Tumbas, because it’s more centered than San Salvador. I actually feel that it is a very good place for a Bio Region Center.

The morning community work doesn’t have to happen always there in las Tumbas, also there is a lot we can do to make this place a beautiful community center, to establish our “Bio region Base”.
From there we can do so much.

I really feel that we would all benefit a lot from :

  • getting into monthly riddim to offer service together for the village.
  • using a centered and non private location for a monthly gathering.

Please share your insights

Congratulations on this new monthly rhythm of Ultimo Sabado Las Tumbas Dia Voluntariado!

The organizing process of holding a Volunteer Day at the Las Tumbas Salon is a great way for DBC members (or Diamante Bloom members) to exercise community building skills, strengthen trust and relationships as a team, and - engage in the activities that clock service hours toward Bloom rewards and progression through the Stages of Stewardship.

I super enjoyed participating in the day, not only for the work that we were able to accomplish but especially for the camaraderie of quality time spent with my neighbors and friends caring for our commons and each other together.

We had a nice debrief on this (and other topics) with @AraArturo @rpiesveloces @Tim and @taralopez during our DBC Meeting before the Taco Tuesday last night at Diamante Luz. Keeping the 2x / month Taco Tuesday at DLuz for now and adding the monthly service day at Las Tumbas is proving to be a great next step for us! It helps distribute value in the valley through sharing resources and energy across key Commons locations without losing the momentum being gained through consistency and persistence!

Thanks to all who supported in every way
